I adopted my little Oreo when she was around 6 months old and had her for only 6 years. From the day I brought her home, I fell in love. She was & still is my best friend, even though she is not physically here anymore. I have never had a rabbit before Oreo so she was my first ever bunny. First few weeks she would chase me around and I thought she was trying to bite me / angry but then I found out that she was happy and wanted to play. She loved nose pets and would flop next to me to be pet all the time. When I stopped petting her, she would sometimes thump or nudge me to keep going. She loved bananas!! It was her favorite treat. I loved when she ran around and jumped in the air (me and my family called it her rodeo hops) last week out of the blue Oreo started eating and pooping less. I took her to the vet ASAP & found out she had GI stasis. The vet sent her home with some meds to give her & to call in the morning to see how she was doing. Oreo wasn’t eating / drinking water, so they advised us to take her back in and we would be shown how to hand feed her. During that visit, she ended up having a heart attack. It was so sudden / unexpected. I am so heartbroken over the passing of my baby. She has never had GI stasis & I have only heard / now know about this from her being diagnosed with it. I miss her so much. I wish I could have done more and I blame myself, even though I had no idea what was going on since she wasn’t showing symptoms until it was too late. I will love and miss my baby forever. I’m seeing rabbits everywhere now & im taking it as a sign that she is still with me. I’m hoping she is at the rainbow bridge with other bunnies and other pets my family and I have lost in the past. Until we meet again one day, oreo. I love you forever.❤️
